A few months back I volunteered at BlogHer Food here in Austin. It was an amazing conference, I learned a lot about food (cool since I don’t cook much) talked with some great brands and met lots of new friends. While attending an event at Whole Foods I had the pleasure of meeting Hilary. Hilary has quite a story and she is off and running on her newest venture, The Austin Pretzel Company. Hilary has a great story to tell on what has inspired her and what her vision is for her new start-up. Recent changes in Texas to the Cottage Food Bill are making it possible for Hilary to take APC to the next level.
Blogs have an influence like no other. We use social media daily to interact daily with friends, readers, customers and brands. We share what we love and what we hate. There is no stronger influence that the words of someone you trust. After a fun trailer food filled brainstorming session I had an oppertunity to help Hilary plan a small get together with a few local bloggers to hear her story, taste a few yummy pretzels and give her some creative feedback. She teamed up with a local brewery in Austin called Hops & Grains to make the experience come together.
We tried 4 yummy flavors of pretzels, gave lots of feedback and had fun. Look for the Austin Pretzel Company around town in the coming months. What is your favorite type of pretzel? Sweet or Savory?
